In light the deadly bombings at Boston Marathon, the NBA has cancelled tomorrow’s game between the Celtics and Pacers.  It will not be rescheduled.

In a release tonight, the Celtics said

Our sincere sympathies go out to all those affected by this senseless tragedy. The entire Celtics organization would like to acknowledge the heroic efforts of the brave civilian, police, fire and medical personnel responding today in the City of Boston.

Today is a tragic day for the city of Boston.  We join in the praise for those first responders who bravely stepped into danger to help the victims, as well as those civilians who did the same.  We hope those injured will recover quickly, and we send our deepest condolences to the families of those who did not survive.

Boston is a strong, proud city that will not stand for such a cowardly attack.  We are also fiercely loyal, and we will do whatever we need to do to help.

In the days ahead, as official information is made available for donations and other charitable endeavors, we will pass it along to those of you who are looking to help.  For now, keep Boston in your thoughts, and in your hearts.
