The Titans model a new look, 8-04 morning practice, and LenDale White

The good news is that, as I heard they would, the Titans gave us an early peek at their throwback look in Tuesday morning’s practice.

The bad news is they still weren’t fully padded, as I also heard they would be, just shells again. That didn’t mean, however, that there wasn’t any contact.

The worst news is that I had some minor surgery Tuesday afternoon and was unable to attend the evening practice or post anything until now. My apologies for being a day late with this and I certainly hope the delay is worth it to you.

Nate Washington provided the highlight of the morning by catching a bomb behind the secondary for what would’ve been a touchdown in a game situation. His speed is for real.

Washington got deep again a little later but Vince Young underthrew him, allowing Ryan Mouton to catch up and make a pick.

I wonder who’s faster, Washington or Chris Johnson. Imagine splitting one of them wide right and the other wide to the left. Do they both draw safety help?

This segues into something interesting that happened. The Dinger split out several interesting receiving targets in one sequence. First he split Johnson out wide, who then came back for a little screen.

Jared Cook also split out, then ran a slant to give Vince a big target for a ten-yard or so completion.

And believe it or not, LenDale White, who took forever to run 80 yards in Kansas City, split out near the sidelines to run a go route straight down the field. Actually, you can believe that because I have a photo of it here.

Yes, that really is LenDale, as you can see here.

I hope that weight loss hasn’t put ideas into LenDale’s head. He may have better quickness hitting the hole, but he’s no Washington. Or Johnson. I don’t know if he’s still Crash, but he’s not Dash.

It’s hard to tell from those pictures just how much weight LenDale has lost so I’ll get another one or two posted so you can get a better idea of his new physique. Also, as mentioned in the last several days, some other players have made changes to their bodies over the offseason, so I’ll get some of their pictures posted too. Alge Crumpler and William Hayes are two of the more noticeable ones.

I believe I have pics of just about all of the new guys, not counting the UDFAs/camp fodder, so I’ll get them up for you soon as well.

What do you think of the new looks? The Titans’ and LenDale’s?
