The Tennessee Titans select RB Javon Ringer in 5th round

Memo to Chris Henry: your spot on the roster is anything but secure.

With their second of four compensatory picks, the Tennessee Titans addressed the running back position with their selection of Michigan State’s Javon Ringer in the 5th round.

By drafting Ringer, the Titans have added depth to their stable of backs, which could eventually equate to trouble for the much-maligned Henry.

Like several of the other players selected by the Titans this weekend, Ringer also met with the Tennessee brass at Baptist Sports Park during a pre-draft visit.

Despite his lack of size, Ringer isn’t afraid to mix it up with the big uglies on opposing defenses. His combination of patience and toughness makes him a guy with the potential to become a factor somewhere down the road in the Titans’ smashmouth running attack, which could mean trouble for the future Titan prospects of “Mr. Invisible” a.k.a. Chris Henry.

What do you think Titan fans? How do you feel about the team spending a draft choice on Ringer?
