Things Don’t Go As Planned in Opener

Bard
I guess the Red Sox are not going to go 162-0.   The Sox took an early lead in the game but Lester made a few mistake pitches which the Rangers sent over the wall.  Mike Napoli did the most damage with a three run home in the fourth.  The Red Sox came back in the top of the eighth on a homer by Big Papi, but Bard struggled in the bottom of the inning and let the Rangers take a three run lead.  Feliz closed the ninth with a perfect inning to pick up his first save of the year.

There were a few bright spots for the Red Sox; Adrian Gonzalez drove in three and went two for four, Ellsbury also had two hits batting lead-off.
