Remember baseball? They keep getting games snowed out and canceled, so individual incidents from single games stick in my craw a little bit longer. This particular theme of this particular game was particularly bothersome:
The starters went 7 innings apiece, and then there were 10 more pitchers used. TEN. On top of the in game delay caused by constant pitching changes, keep in mind that when pitchers are used, no matter if it’s for a third of an inning or a full inning, they will pitch 30-40 pitches out of the bullpen. That’s work that will wear them down over the course of the season.
That said, at least the White Sox used more pitchers.
