In the game Mickey Rivers would steal a base, his eighth of the season to this point and drive in a run. Rivers began his major league career with the Angels in 1970 and played through the 1975 season. Rivers did not become a full time player with the Angels until 1974 and he led the league in triples in both 1974 and 1975. During 1975 Rivers would go on to steal 70 bases which led the American League and is an Angel single season record.
