June 1, 1975 at Anaheim Stadium the California Angels beat the Baltimore Orioles 1-0. Dave Chalk would drive in Mickey Rivers for the Angels lone run. In the game Nolan Ryan would pitch his 4th no-hitter as an Angel, walking 4 and striking out 9, running his record to 9-3. 1975 would be an off-year for Ryan, despite the no-hitter and he would finish the year 14-12, eventually needing elbow surgery in August. Ryan would finish with 28 games started, 198 innings pitched, 10 complete games and 186 strikeouts (good totals for most pitchers), which were lows for him in a season while playing for the Angels after averaging 21 wins, 40 starts, 314 innings pitched, 24 complete games and 366 strikeouts the previous three years. The Angels would finish 72-89, 6th in the American League West that year.
