June 8, 1977 at Anaheim Stadium the California Angels beat the Toronto Blue Jays 2-1. Bobby Grich would hit a solo home run in the bottom of the 13th to end the game. Nolan Ryan pitched 10 innings, giving up 1 run on 6 hits while striking out 19. This was the last of 4 times that Ryan would strike out 19 in a game for the Angels. Dave LaRoche pitched the last 3 innings to pick up the win in relief. Also on June 8, 2004 the Anaheim Angels lost to the Milwaukee Brewers 1-0 in 17 innings at Edison International Stadium. Even though the Angels lost the game, they would set a club record for strikeouts in a game (extra innings) with 26. Kelvim Escobar pitched 8 innings, striking out 11; Francisco Rodriguez went 2 innings, striking out 3; Scot Shields 2 innings, 4 strikeouts; Kevin Gregg 2 innings, 3 strikeouts and Ramon Ortiz, who would take the loss went the last 3 innings while striking out 5.
