May 17, 1962 the Los Angeles Angels lost to the Baltimore Orioles 6-4 at Memorial Stadium in Baltimore. Bo Belinsky would give up all 6 runs in 2 2/3 innings, taking his first loss after winning his first 5 games in his rookie year. Albie Pearson batted lead-off and scored a run in the game. Pearson came to the Angels as a selection in their expansion draft in 1960. In 1962 Pearson would score 115 runs, tying him for 7th all-time in a single season in Angels history. Pearson had his best year in 1963 when he led the American League in singles with 161 while batting .305 on the year (4th in the American League). Pearson would make the All-Star team that year while playing for the Angels.
