May 7, 2009 at Angel Stadium of Anaheim the Angels beat the Toronto Blue Jays 6-1. Jered Weaver would pitch a complete game, allowing 1 run on 3 hits and striking out 8. Mike Napoli and Kendry Morales would homer in the game to lead the Angels scoring. 2009 would be the first full-season for Morales where he hit 34 home runs, drove in 108, while batting .306 on the year. His .569 slugging percentage that year would move him to fifth all-time for a single season in Angels history and was second in the American League. Morales would place 5th in the AL MVP vote in 2009.
