This Weekend In Ohio State Football

Quick update on your Saturday morning before some of us have get to go watch their youngest perform in community tumbling recitals. Admit it, you’re jealous.

As we speak, lots of the fairer members of Buckeye Nation are participating in the inaugural Women’s Football Clinic, which is certain to have a really great schedule of events and a much better looking group of participants than other situations we’re familiar with.

Then Sunday sees the first one day camp under Coach Meyers, and there’s a pretty good group of folks headed to Columbus.  From Buckeye Planet, here’s the list as we have it:

This Weekend In Ohio State Football
Mr. Bell

2013 QB Michael Julian (Hilton Head, SC)
2013 RB Aregeros Turner (Copley, OH)
2013 OL Kyle Meadows (Lakota, OH)
2013 OL Lovell Peterson (Huber Heights, OH)
2013 OL Mac Bosel (Cincinnati, OH)
2013 OL Matt Miller (Toledo, OH)
2013 OL Sam Coverdale (Chagrin Falls, OH)
2013 OL Sean Welsh (Springboro, OH)
2013 OL Tate Leavitt (Thornville, OH)
2013 DE Tracy Sprinkle (Elyria, OH)
2013 DE Tyquan Lewis (Tarboro, NC)
2013 LB Jerome Lane (Akron, OH)
2013 LB Robert Suarez (Powell, OH)
2013 DB Caleb Day (Hilliard, OH)
2013 DB Jayme Thompson (Toledo, OH)
2013 DB Vonn Bell (Rossville, GA)
2013 ATH Darron Lee (New Albany, OH)
2013 ATH Matt Petrella (Steubenville, OH)

This Weekend In Ohio State Football
Mr. Kizer

2014 QB DeShone Kizer (Toledo, OH)
2014 OL Jamarco Jones (Chicago, IL)
2014 OL Jared McCray (Minford, OH)
2014 DB D’Andre Payne (Washington, DC)
2014 DB Troy Vincent (Baltimore, MD)

Things to watch for: A number of the OL candidates are looking to earn their offer, so don’t be surprised to hear news on Sunday/Monday that this has happened. In addition, several of these guys are already strong Buckeye leans; it wouldn’t be too surprising to see the offer followed quickly by a verbal commitment.

We’ve mentioned before that this weekend will be Vonn Bell’s second visit in less than a month- as a top rated safety for the 2013 class, it would certainly be exciting to see his name on our front page in the near future.

Keep an eye on OB DeShone Kizer as well- he just picked up an offer from Nebraska, and will be one of the top targets at his position in the 2014 class.

Have a great weekend, Buckeye Nation!!
