Thomas Tyner, Oregon Duck Football 2013 prospect, runs a 10.38 100

Last season Thomas Tyner ran for 1555 yards, 20 touchdowns and 11.55 yards a carry while leading his Aloha High team to a 6A State Championship. As a sophomore. He’s already surpassed 2500 yards for his high school career, as well as being the one the fastest high school 100 meter sprinters in the country, clocking 10.38 seconds in the Metro League Championships last spring. Despite being bottled up in a loss to Grant last Friday, Thomas is still the most coveted prospect to come out of Oregon in a long while with his unique blend of power and potential Olympic speed. He graduates in 2013, but already he’s been offered a scholarship by the Ducks, and has made unofficial visits to Eugene for these last two home games. Numerous sites are reporting how much he loves the atmosphere at Autzen and the prospect of playing close to home, making him a strong Duck lean early in his recruiting process. Tyner has a very bright future as a football player, and UO is a great fit with its marvelous tradition and fan support as a track school.
