Thompson in, Landry out of starting line-up.

Carl Landry was not able to practice yesterday due to a sore back and then slept through shoot around today so Jason Thompson will start at the power forward spot for the Kings tonight.  Thompson started most of his rookie and sophomore seasons for the Kings but this year has been relegated to the bench.   It will be interesting to see how long Carl Landry sits before he gets the call against a very athletic Bulls front line.

Here is what the Coach had to say about the benching:

Carl’s back is better, he’s not going to start tonight because he actually slept through about 90% of the shoot around.  He felt bad, everybody felt bad, but he couldn’t practice yesterday and then today he couldn’t do the walk through because he wasn’t there so we are going to start JT and bring him (Landry) off the bench.  It might be interesting to see how it looks anyway so we’ll give it a try.

Coach Westphal on Thompson:

I’m optimistic.  He’s started a lot of games in this league and I think he likes it so it will be interesting.

Francisco Garcia will also miss the game tonight due to illness.
