I’m two days late on this but the Saints’ preseason schedule was announced. Of course we don’t have dates yet, just weekly matchups. I’ll take this opportunity to reiterate how insufferable preseason is and that there should be 3 games at most, never 4. And honestly, I’d be fine with 2. There is some value to seeing backups in a live game situation but that last preseason game in particular is a complete waste of everyone’s time. That said, here are the opponents:
Week 1: at St. Louis Rams
Week 2: vs. Tennessee Titans
Week 3: at Indianapolis Colts (nationally televised on CBS)
Week 4: vs. Baltimore Ravens
If there’s any silver lining it’s that the Saints can end the preseason in New Orleans and stay at home. That should help in preparation for week 1 of the regular season. Of these four teams the Saints also play the Ravens during the regular season, so they’ll get a look at them prior to playing them when it counts.
The regular season matchups are as follows:
Home: Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, San Francisco 49ers, Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Away: Chicago Bears, Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, Pittsburgh Steelers, Dallas Cowboys, Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers
