Dak Prescott

The situation the Cowboys have put Prescott into this season is simply unfair. They have taken away his weapons and injuries have taken away much of the protection he needs to be successful.

Prescott is going to have a lot of obstacles this season, and there is little hope of turning this season around if he does not find a way to get this offense on track.

For someone his age, it is probably unrealistic to expect him to improve enough to turn that disastrous offense around. When you think about the tools he can work with to get that improvement, and things look quite bleak for the season.

If, however, Prescott puts that first game far behind him and finally starts looking for and finding receivers downfield, it can make all the difference in the running game, and transform the overall offense.

Right now, the passing game needs to step up in order for the run game to be good. The Cowboys are the least threatening downfield team in the NFL, giving defenses all the incentive they need to focus entirely on the run game.

The Cowboys need to trust Prescott enough to have him start taking the shots that will keep the defense honest. It will put more pressure on him, and could lead to more mistakes that bring the team down even more.

That being said, staying complacent could be just a detrimental with Prescott, and without improvement om his end, the Cowboys are not going to survive very long.
