The time has come once again for the Full Contact Fight Federation (FCFF) to set up shop at the historic Roseland Theater in beautiful Portland for Rumble at the Roseland 83. This Saturday night, the FCFF will not only be bringing you action from some of the best up and coming talent in the Pacific Northwest, they will also be bringing you some of the biggest talent. For this event, the FCFF has brought back the super heavyweights, that’s 265 pounds or bigger! The two gigantic combatants most certainly posses enough power to put on a show all by themselves and it always seems possible that will happen when men of their stature square off in the cage. This card boasts 17 scheduled fights including two title fights, a 160-pound super fight, and the super heavyweight matchup to cap off the night.
Fight card is as follows:
- Super Heavyweight: Rudy Schaffroth vs. Casey Lunzman
- Lightweight: Justin Zabroski vs. Thomas Patrick
- Flyweight: Luis Lopez vs. Joseph Elzea
- 160-Pound Super Fight: Angel Espino vs. Kweayon Clark
- Light Heavyweight: Michael Collazo vs. Samuel Sprauer
- Bantamweight: Luke Smith vs. Fortino Sanchez
- Feather weight: Jeremy Calhoun vs. Cash Barnes
- Bantamweight: Cahleb Gonzales vs. Ignacio Mendez
- Featherweight: Brandon Lee Johnson vs. Daniel Mcelhaney
- Bantamweight: Tim Devore vs. Ryen Betzhold
- Catch Weight 140lbs: Joseph Durant vs. Riley Redding
- Welterweight: Nicky Porter vs. DJ Nuttall
- Middleweight: Brandon Lunny vs. Cordon Jewell
- Light Heavyweight: Marcus Hickman vs. AJ Van Hattem
- Bantamweight: Sam Sison vs. Jesse Martinez
- Catch Weight 160lbs: Cris Williams vs. Phelan Carron
- Featherweight: Christian Resendez vs. Brian Heenan
If you are wondering whether or not you should attend this fight card, let me give you my top three reasons you should make your way down to the Roseland this Saturday.
- Animals MMA will be on display. Five of the nights fights will feature fighters from the Hubbard based fight team. While Animals MMA may not be the biggest gym in the region, it is certainly one of the brightest. Head coach and long time pro Enoch Wilson has proven successful in and out of the cage, training fighters like WMMA star Amanda “The Lady Killer” Bell. Three of the five fights on the main card will feature Animals representatives punctuated by a flyweight title fight for up and comer Luis Lopez. This close-knit team of Animals will surely be looking to make it a clean sweep on Saturday night.
- The return of the super heavyweights. Team Quest heavyweight Rudy Schaffroth is coming into this matchup on a two-fight win streak with the hope of extending it to three. At 6’4” and 275 pounds, Schaffroth is built to end fights and end them quickly. But if it’s pure size you’re after, Schaffroth’s opponent, Casey Lunzman, is your dog in this fight. Lunzman stands a towering 6’9” tall and weighs in around 300 pounds. Coming off the first loss of his career, Lunzman will be looking to get back on track when he enters the cage on Saturday.
- Simply put, there are a lot of fights on this card. For me a card with this many fights is just a great value. Making a day of it will allow you to see some of the up and coming fighters from Oregon while supporting one of the most important local promotions in the state. On display will be fighters from great gyms like Impact Jiu Jitsu, Straight Blast Gym, Gladiator MMA and more. Head out and support these athletes as they put it all on the line inside the cage.
If you are looking for tickets to the event, you can purchase them online here or you can head into Bridge City Fight Shop in Tualatin and grabs some in person.
