The Minnesota Vikings defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 16-1o Sunday afternoon to improve to 3-2 on the season, below are three things we learned from the win.

Stefon Diggs is good

Really good. In his first two games (he was inactive weeks 1-3) the rookie out of Maryland has amassed 216 receiving yards. Perhaps more impressive is the 19 times he’s been targeted by Teddy Bridewater in those two games. For a rookie who just bursted onto the scene, establishing repertoire with Bridewater should pay even greater dividends down the road.

Vikings need to finish games

16-10 was way too close of a game for a Minnesota team that should have blown the lowly 1-5 Chiefs out of the water. Minnesota faltered down the stretch, leaving the door ajar for an upset hungry team to pick up a cheap win. The Vikings will most likely be favored in their next four games against Detroit, Chicago, Saint Louis and then Detroit again. The purple are going to have to do a much better job of finishing if they hope to make a long stretch run this season.

Everson Griffin was out & should be back

The NFL is apparently investigating the reason the Vikings’ defensive end was inactive for Sunday’s contest. Head coach Mike Zimmer told the media that Griffin was sick even going so far to say as “All I know is he was sick, because I saw him.” Zimmer added that he hoped Griffin would be back by Wednesday but if the DE is to miss extended time it would result in negative results for the Minnesota defense. Heading into’s Sunday’s game Griffin had registed 3 sacks, and his absence means extra reps for rookie Danielle Hunter. While the Vikings do have high hopes for Hunter, Minnesota will look to get Griffin back on the field as soon as possible.
