Come on, there’s no way you can resist watching this classic Celtics game.  What, you don’t recall the immortal Travis Knight dropping a career high 21 points against future Celtic Vin Baker?  Knight also pulled down 10 rebounds, the only game of his career where he accomplished a 20, 10 game.

Ok if that’s not enough, you have a rare game with Chauncey Billups in a Celtics uniform.  You also have Bruce “John Havlicek” Bowen in a Celtics uniform, taking charges against Gary Payton, and not getting the call.  If you don’t know where the Hondo reference came from, look up classic quotes from the head coach of this mess, Rick Pitino. (I’ll save you the time… when introducing Bowen to the media, he said he’d be the next John Havlicek due to his endless energy)

The best part of this game is watching Pitino’s foolish “press for 48 minutes” style of basketball he tried to bring to the pros.  These guys were dead by the beginning of the second quarter and Seattle toyed with them.  You knew it would be bad from the beginning when the starting lineup graphic got Antoine Walker and Ron Mercer completely wrong.

So, if you’re a young C’s fan who never had to endure the puke-inducing Pitino era, today’s your lucky day.  If you remember these days, well try to laugh it off.
