March 15th, 1992. The Portland Trailblazers were making their one & only visit of the season to the Garden and the C’s had revenge on their minds. Back in November, the Blazers blew out Boston 116-90 in a wire-to-wire victory, handing Boston it’s third straight loss.
Boston was once again on a losing streak when the Blazers came to town. The C’s had dropped their previous three contests at the hands of Miami, Chicago & New Jersey. This game would end up being the turning point of the season for the green. Behind 49 points from Larry Legend & 23 from Reggie Lewis, Boston would win a hard fought, double OT thriller 152-148. The off balance three that Bird hits with Drexler all over him to send the game into the first OT is reason alone to watch this game.
The Celtics would go on to win 15 of their final 17 games, heading into the playoffs on a tear. Check out the game below courtesy of Evenmixer.
