The year was 2006 and the C’s were 23-33 about halfway through the season. After leading Boston to victory with a 37 point performance in Portland against the Blazers, Paul Pierce and his teammates were now headed into L.A. to face the rival Lakers. Pierce once again came through with a mammoth game, dropping 39 points on L.A. and sinking one of two game-clinching free throws with 3.2 seconds left. After Kobe Bryant, who put in 40 of his own, just misses a potential game winner at the buzzer, Pierce emphatically pops out the “BOSTON” on his green & black jersey in an image that is one of my favorite Truth moments ever.
