Thursday Links – Ben Roethlisberger Suspended, Nats Calling Up Stephen Strasburg in May, Hot Tickets for The Big Chill, & Toby Gerhart Thinks Being White Is Hurting His Draft Status

Happy Thursday everyone. Hopefully your day doesn’t suck as much as Todd McShay’s. [via Tirico Suave]

  • Around the Horn Baseball reports that Stephen Strasburg will be called up to the majors in May, if not sooner. I like that the Nationals sent Strasburg to AA Harrisburg to start the season, but he’s proved that he belongs in the bigs.
  • The Blog That Yost Built has an update for ticket sales for The Big Chill at the Big House, a.k.a. the Michigan-Michigan State outdoor hockey game taking place next season. Apparently over 60,000 tickets have already been sold. Judging by the e-mail I just got from MSU announcing that tickets were on sale, that number is about to shoot up. Get ’em while you can people.
  • Former Stanford RB Toby Gerhart will definitely be drafted sometime on Thursday or Friday, but many think he’d be a lock to go in the first round if he were black. I definitely agree that there’s a stereotype, much like the one against black quarterbacks. Regardless of skin color, I’d like to see him in Honolulu blue next season.
  • A couple of quick hits you wouldn’t expect to see: Nightmare on Helm Street commends Versus for a job well done (so far), and Piston Powered defends Charlie Villanueva and Ben Gordon.
