Thursday Links – Braves Offer Damon One-Year Deal, Lindsey Vonn Questionable for Olympics, Washington Capitals’ Win Streak Snapped, & Questionable Winter Decisions in DC

It was a very unproductive night here at D4L HQ between the internets eating my first attempt at a links post and spending two hours watching Letterman Top 10 clips on Youtube.

Lindsey Vonn Sports Illustrated
  • The Atlanta Braves beat the Tigers to the punch yesterday, offering Johnny Damon a one year contract. Damon hasn’t accepted the offer because he’s still looking for a two year deal delusional. The Braves blogosphere has mixed feelings on the matter: Talking Chop is anti-Damon, while Chop-n-Change is all for some outfield depth.
  • Speaking of baseball, fantasy baseball is up and running on both Yahoo! and ESPN. I’m excited to draft six teams in four days, then forget about all of them by May. I’m also a big fan of taking Tigers way too early. If you’re anything like me, you’ll want to check out Fantasy Hurler’s preview of the Tigers’ best and worst fantasy options in 2010.
Anna Benson
  • The Washington Capitals’ 14-game win streak was snapped tonight in Montreal. Both Japers’ Rink and Fight for Old DC have their respective thoughts on the streak. Make sure you check out Old DC for one of the sweetest photoshops I have ever seen.
  • A lot of Red Wings sites had something to say about last night’s slip up by the Versus crew. Darren McCarty reverts to his 15-year old self after hearing the phrase “speaking of enormous loads.” A big-time shout-out in tomorrow’s links post goes to anyone that can find me a better video.

Rob’s Highlight of the Day

Postponed until I find video of Amare Stoudemire’s submission for “Dunk of the Year” over Portland’s Dante Cunningham. Until then, check it out in the game highlights (at the 0:55 mark). UPDATE: Short version finally available.
