It’s finally Thursday, and we’ll see how it goes. I have about 6 hours to figure out what the hell a Coulomb is and how it affects milk production in China, or something like that. But come 10:00, I’ll be feeling a lot like Homer does.
- Apparently the Tigers signed some dude named Justin Verlander yesterday. Never heard of him.
- Yesterday was National Signing Day, or College Football’s Christmas as I like to call it. There weren’t very many surprises, which for Michigan means they get to watch All-American safety Demar Dorsey “do it” on D for the next four years.
- Due to the lack of surprises on the recruiting front, Rich Rodriguez had time to ramble a bit in his press conference yesterday. Rich Rod commented on “negative recruiting” in the Big Ten but wouldn’t come out with which school was bashing Michigan on the recruitment trail. Maize & Blog has some theories, and their answer might surprise you.
Not that this picture is a hint or anything…
- If I were Tim Tebow, I’d think twice about wanting to play in Jacksonville next season. Jags O-lineman Uche Nwaneri is less-than-impressed with Timmah as a QB. I’m no Bill Belichick, but I’m pretty sure you want your offensive line to have faith in your quarterback. Otherwise he ends up like this.
- I forgot about this from Tuesday night, but in the Pistons’ 97-93 win over the New Jersey Nets Ben Wallace became the shortest NBA player to ever record 2,000 career blocked shots. Big Ben is listed at 6’9″, which was probably only true when he looked like this.
- The Columbus Blue Jackets fired head coach Ken Hitchcock yesterday. Hitchcock’s time in Columbus was highlighted by promising to make the Wings “bleed” (which worked out well for him, as you can see) and eating more food than the entire OSU football team.
- Over at Guyism, Isaac is being modest. He says that Erin Andrews is partying with Diddy on Super Bowl Sunday. What he failed to mention is that Diddy is actually partying with us (aaaand… T-Pain) on my yacht. And none of these fuckers are invited.
- Make sure to check out Hugging Harold Reynolds for all of the Super Bowl stories you’ll hear this week, and maybe a couple you haven’t.
Rob’s Highlight of the Day
Taj Gibson crosses up Michigan native Chris Kaman and throws down a dunk on Kaman’s balding head. For more Gibson highlights, check out NESW Sports.
