Thursday Thoughts

-Don’t get me wrong, I love high scoring games, but last night’s Tampa and Buffalo game wasn’t exactly a scoring classic. Just a very sloppy hockey game. But hey, two points are two points. I really want the Sabres to just go for it in January before the Olympic Break, so they can get a little cushion for the division lead. Since Ryan Miller will be playing possibly close to 6-7 games in the Olympics, I think it’s key that they can rest him a little after the break-

-So you mean to tell me that Charlie Weiss would say “no” to the Bills head coaching job, but yes to be the offensive coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs? Even Russ Grimm, the line coach from the Cardinals doesn’t want any part of the job. I know most fans will state that it’s all about the unattractiveness of the Bills organization, which is of course true, but don’t these coaches want a challenge? You know, the days of when Bill Parcells would take the biggest piece of garbage football team and turn them around. I have a bad feeling we are going to be dealing with Jim Haslett-

-BTW, does anyone want to be my Bills and Sabres source? I mean if the blogger in East Aurora has a source for the Bills, why can’t I?-

-Thanks, Chuck Schumer. Thanks for calling Ralph Wilson to make sure the team wasn’t moving to LA. Maybe Chuck should of read the paper from say….four years ago?!?! You know when Wilson said he wouldn’t sell or move the team while he was alive. How about contacting some billionaires who want to invest in a football team after Mr. Wilson passes? Then maybe you’ll get the all important football vote in Buffalo. What a joke-

-Memo to Rick Jeanneret and Mike Robitaille: enough with defending the Sabres for not making a trade. If I have to hear Robi’s catchphrase of “Fans just want you to make a trade for the sake of a trade,” I’m going to vomit. Every time someone brings up trading to any of the Sabres employees, they all get their panties in a bunch and say “who you gonna trade!? what are the players?!” It’s like they get all arrogant and angry about it, which I’m sure is the organization talking for them. I’m sorry, but trades happen in NHL, even good ones! If the Sabres can trade Brian Campbell away for a bag of pucks, why can’t someone else do the same for the Sabres? I’m sick of hearing the small market excuse. For once, I’d like the Sabres to actually go for it and be daring for a change-
