After a whirlwind week for San Antonio Spurs’ Tiago Splitter, the Brazilian big man made his debut for Valencia Basket against UCAM Murcia in grand fashion.
Splitter, who joined Valencia for the duration of the NBA lockout, finished with 12 points, 10 rebounds, shot 4-9 from the field, 4-6 from the free-throw line in 28 minutes in a narrow 86-83 overtime win against Murcia.
Despite Splitter’s presence, Murcia proved to be a tough team for Valencia.
Murcia stayed within striking distance the entire game but it was Spurs draftee Nando De Colo who steadied Valencia in the second half. De Colo finished with 13 points and five rebounds and led the team in the second half and in overtime.
Splitter and Valencia will next face Telenet Oostende.
