Linebacker Trey Johnson from Lawrenceville, GA has given a verbal commitment to play for the Tigers. Johnson joins Muscle Shoals defensive tackle Dee Liner as Auburn’s second athlete for the class of 2013.
Johnson, 6’2″ 220, has been a frequent visitor of late to the Plains as a camper and to watch Auburn scrimmage. Johnson had a huge sophomore campaign at Central Gwinnett, totalling more than 150 tackles and 20+ tackles for loss.
As with many recruits, Johnson felt comfortable with the Auburn coaching staff, a huge factor in his decision. Johnson held offers from elite programs, Alabama, Ohio State, Notre Dame, USC and Florida State to name just a few. Johnson is on pace to qualify easily.
