Rather than playing the patented matinee getaway game today, Detroit and Cleveland will play at night on MLB Network. That means Detroit can’t let the semi-abnormal Thursday night game affect the way they play and cause them to do what the guy below is doing:
Yes, this old man is sleeping in the middle of an Indians game. Last night’s game to be exact — approximately 35 minutes into the game!
I guess that’s what happens when you forgot to wear your “Oops, I crapped my pants,” leave your teeth at home, and the Tigers jump out to a 4-0 lead on your team in the first inning. Big ups to an Indian’s blog, Waiting for Next Year, for capturing this funny image (and hat tip to @WFNYScott for pointing it out to me).
Anyway, Detroit has a good opportunity for a clean sweep tonight, but they can’t get complacent with how they’ve played in the first two games. They need to kick the Indians while they’re down and make sure the pesky Tribe stays down because the Twins have been winning so much lately, it wouldn’t surprise me if they somehow pick up a win on their off day. Just because the Twins have a night off, doesn’t mean the Tigers can take one off, too.
