Tigers Defeat Pale Hose On The Strength Of Team Bonding Slap Fight

The cell

I’m back from Chicago with a series win. Surprisingly, the game and atmosphere was very mild which was the opposite of what I had predicted. This I can attribute to the fact that the city of Chicago are by and large huge readers of Detroit4lyfe and word had spread that this writer has the juice and was Laird’d and ready to go. That picture is a view from my foul pole sitta seats where it looked like I was at a stadium made for ants. Anyways, the game highlights were the nifty behind the back double play turn by the fanciest stone footed second basemen in the league, and a two run go ahead ninth inning HR by Avila. This video is exactly what I was doing in the 500 level after Avila’s big fly.

Sadly, I tried and was unsuccessful in finding Hawk Harrelson’s call of the HR. He is just one old man that I like much better when he is sad. It really makes you appreciate the 5 or so times per game that Rod Allen calls for the “unintentional intentional walk.” After the game ended, I strutted out of US Cellular just like this.

The biggest story of the weekend was the dugout slap fight between Galarraga and both our catchers. Initially, the scrap was between just Avila and Galarraga, but Laird being the team player that he is decided that he wanted to fight our starting pitching also. Good job, Laird. I don’t know this for sure, but I feel that it is likely that the tensions arose from Galarraga’s new magic eye ball Dr. Rahmani commercial. Or, Galarraga can now just see when they are flipping him off behind the plate.

Everytime Johnny Damon speaks, I become more and more convinced that there is something just very…off with him. Maybe it was him saying that he wanted to play in Detroit because of Steve Yzerman, or that Miguel Cabrera was the greatest hitter of all-time in a post game interview, or maybe it was when he said this after the dugout tiff…”

“Dissension breeds winners, we should have done it earlier”

That’s good stuff, Damon. Since Damon seems to be one of the unofficial captains on this team…I’m putting the post all-star break swoon on him for not organizing a teamwide fight club. Hopefully a Don Kelly, Jeff Frazier cage match is in the works…for improving team chemistry.

By the way, Denks missed the game and save opportunity with a “back” injury. This “back” injury probably came when I met him in the parking lot and we tried to promote team unity with fisticuffs. There is video of this altercation.
