Tigers Win, But Lose Miguel Cabrera to Injury

The Tigers accomplished a rare feat earlier tonight, beating the Chicago White Sox 9-1. Unfortunately, Miguel Cabrera left the game early due to a nagging injury in his left shoulder. That crafty bastard Jason Beck has all the details.

Cabrera admitted before the game that his left shoulder was still bothering him and that he was playing through it. He feels it when he swings, but had been dealing with it the last few days…Cabrera left last Wednesday’s game at Minnesota with the same issue. He missed last Friday’s series opener at Kansas City before returning to action Saturday.

Normally if this happened, I would be as panicked as a Mr. David Della Rocco after his buddies took care of business (very NSFW language, use headphones).

However, barring a monumental collapse by the division-leading Minnesota Twins, the Tigers will be planning tee times and Halloween parties by the time October rolls around. Hopefully this doesn’t require surgery, which would send me back into the fuck-splosion mode illustrated earlier. Otherwise, just give Cabrera a few days off to allow his shoulder to heal. We might only score like 2 runs in 5 games, but that’s what Max Scherzer is for anyway.
