He said he wanted to be back and he's one step closer. It's being reported that Tim Thomas has signed a Professional Tryout (PTO) Contract with the Florida Panthers, furthering the misery that is Roberto Luongo.

Rumor has it the contract is aroudn $2 million if he makes the team. The Panthers have five goalies at camp this fall.

Thomas also has said he wants to be on the 2014 US Olympic Team, but that's probably a pipe dream. Then again, it is Tim Thomas we're talking about here…
