The hustling and bustling of the draft may be over, but the Titans are still exploring avenues to bring in additional young talent.
Delaware RB Omar Cuff, Hawaii WR Jason Rivers and Kentucky G/C Eric Scott are the first of 10 undrafted free agents that the Titans expect to sign this week.
Cuff is a 5’10” 195 lb running back who successfully made the transition from defense to offense, switching from defensive back to running back during his career at Delaware. Cuff, who rushed for 1,945 yards while scoring 35 rushing touchdowns last season, compares favorably to Michigan RB Mike Hart, another highly productive runner who was drafted in the sixth round by AFC South rival Indianapolis.
Cuff is an undrafted free agent with a great work ethic who isn’t going to back down from the seemingly insurmountable challenge of making an NFL roster. Maybe he will be able to handCuff the opposition on the pro level.
Jason Rivers , a 6’2″ receiver who played his college ball in the Rainbow state, is a receiver with some size and good hands, but lacks downfield speed. He did perform well against competition from bigger schools, catching 10 passes for 105 yards in Hawaii’s loss to Georgia in the Sugar Bowl.
Eric Scott is an athletic big man who is capable of playing multiple positions on the offensive line. Scott is raw but talented, and given the losses of Jacob Bell and Benji Olson during the offseason, he should at least have the chance to compete for a roster spot for the Titans next season.
