Veteran DT Corey Simon has agreed to terms with the Titans, giving them another widebody up front with Albert Haynesworth.
Tennessee had him in for a physical and workout last week, so he must be OK. Simon missed all of last year with a knee injury and an unspecified illness.
Drafted in 2000 by the Eagles, he was a Pro Bowl selection in 2003, went to the Colts as a free agent in 2005, and was released by them earlier this season.
If he’s as healthy as he appears, and if Big Al can stay healthy, they ought to stuff the middle pretty well. Does that make Ryan Fowler less important at MLB? Does Stephen Tulloch have the edge now because of his better speed?
It’s another free agent acquisition that upgrades the defense.
