With their third-round pick in the 2011 NFL draft, 77th overall, the Tennessee Titans selected USC defensive tackle Jurrell Casey.
As I wrote before the draft, I didn’t think defensive tackle was a big need for the Titans, but Casey does sort of fit what they need. He’s a little short at DT at 6’0.5″ but has good size at at little over 300 pounds and seems to have good strength. The size limitations (he also has short arms) will limit his overall potential, but he’ll fit in as an interior penetrator.
