It's another sad day in a season which hasn't had many high points. The Titans took a 20-7 halftime lead into the locker room at Lucas Oil Stadium. When they exited, they left their game in the locker room and couldn't make their lead stand up. Jake Locker threw a pair of costly interceptions in the second half which gave the Colts ten easy points. Andrew Luck led the Colts to another come from behind victory.
These teams are inverse images of each other in several respects. The Colts improved their record to 9-4 on the season while the Titans dropped to 4-9. The Titans have lost three games in a row and the Colts have won three in a row. The Titans have lost five of their last six, while the Colts have won seven of their last eight. They're definitely two teams going in opposite directions.
I did see a few good things today, for those who may want to find something positive or even encouraging.
Kenny Britt seems to be completely recovered from his ACL injury and could once again become a big threat.
I liked Dowell Loggains' play calling in the first half. He mixed things up pretty well with personnel groups, formations and plays. The offense was in rhythm for most of the half.
The o-line played better than expected, at least in pass protection.
The d-line played well, albeit against not the best competition.
The defense generally played decently, though they did give up a few plays. They held the Colts to only 269 yards. They held Luck to 196 yards passing and a QB rating of 50.6 and sacked him four times for 25 yards.
Up next for the Titans will be the Jets, who will visit for a Monday night primetime matchup. In week 16 the Titans will visit Green Bay before closing out the season at home against the Jaguars.
