The inactives are out for today’s game at LP Field between the Tennessee Titans and the Jacksonville Jaguars, and here they are:
JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS: WR Mike Brown, LB Jeremiah George, RB Toby Gerhart, CB Jeremy Harris, WR Tavarres King, G Tyler Shatley, OT Sam Young
TENNESSEE TITANS: OLB Akeem Ayers, CB Brandon Ghee, RB Shonn Greene, QB Jake Locker, CB Coty Sensabaugh, TE Craig Stevens, TE Taylor Thompson
For the Titans, wide receiver Kris Durham makes his season debut as the Titans go with five receivers. New active roster addition tight end Brett Brackett is up with Stevens and Thompson out. Quarterbacks don’t start after missing practice all week, it seems, so Locker is inactive, and we’ll get Charlie Whitehurst again. And your Ayers experiment lasted a week, with James Anderson returning to the lineup. That was fun. The big news is Sensabaugh, who was questionable with the knee injury from last week’s game.
The Jaguars’ inactives contain no real news. Gerhart is the big name, but he was out on the OIR. Rookie Storm Johnson, who played with Blake Bortles at UCF, will likely see a fair number of snaps. He was okay and obviously works well with the quarterback.
I don’t know what to say about this game. If both teams play at approximately their normal level of performance, the Titans should win this game. Whitehurst has played okay the last couple weeks-not great, but respectably enough and better than I feared he might play. Last year, this was a game the Titans tried to win on the ground. When the Jaguars got some breaks, Jacksonville got their first win of the season. They haven’t scored more than 17 points yet this year, so they’ll need to either shut down the Titans (possible just due to Titans self-inflicted reasons) or get some breaks to win.
I’ll be chiming in during the game on Twitter, so follow and yap at me there if you so desire. Recap up after the game.
