Led by a sensational, 7-catch, 225 yard, 3-touchdown performance by WR Kenny Britt, the Tennessee Titans overcame a second half deficit in their 37-19 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.
Benched for the majority of the first half due to his off-the-field behavior, an apparently motivated Kenny Britt became a one-man wrecking crew as he repeatedly dominated helpless Eagle defenders on several big passing plays.

Welcome to stardom, Kenny Britt
Prior to the game, if we were asked which Tennessee Titan had the ability to take over the game and carry the team to victory, the majority of us would have answered Chris Johnson in a heartbeat.
Surprisingly, it was none other than Kenny Britt who rose to the occasion.
Britt’s tantalizing talents were on full display this afternoon, as he utilized his impressive attributes of size and speed to out-jump, out-maneuver and out-run the opposition.
While Britt’s maturity can undoubtedly be questioned due to the lapses he’s experienced on and off the gridiron, what can’t be questioned is his mouth-watering receiving abilities. He has the talent to be the #1 WR that this franchise has so desperately needed for years to come.
Hopefully, moving forward, this breakthrough game will motivate Kenny to concentrate his energies towards being the player he’s capable of becoming and putting an end to some of the bad judgement he’s used off the field.
A resilient Titan defense
The bend-but don’t-break Titan defense was at it again today. Despite giving up some yards, the defense did it’s best job to keep the team in thecontest by holding the Eagles to several field goals instead of multiple touchdowns.
When the Titans were able to overcome a deficit and take the lead, it was the defense that did a solid of job of preventing the Eagles from getting back into the ballgame.
Statistically speaking (in the yards given up category), this group doesn’t compare to past Titan defenses but as long as they continue to make big plays, create turnovers and give the team a chance of winning the game, I’ll consider them a successful unit.
Final random thoughts
–Britt’s impressive performance was the second best game by a receiver since the franchise’s relocation to Nashville.
Only Drew Bennett’s 233 yards in an unforgettable 2004 shootout with the Chiefs surpassed Britt’s 225-yard effort.
-Without Britt’s monumental game, the main headline from today’s Titans/Eagles clash would have been dominated by what at best would be considered a so-so performance from veteran signal-caller Kerry Collins.
On too many occasions he was a statue in the pocket, which led to multiple Eagle sacks and a few turnovers. Visions of Kerry’s abysmal 2009 performance during the team’s 0-6 start entered my mind on a recurring basis for most of the first half.
Fortunately, Collins still has the arm strength to get the ball to Kenny Britt, who used his talents to take care of the rest against helpless Eagle defenders.
No disrespect to the game-manager, but there’s no question that Vince Young is the team’s best option at starting QB.
Get well soon, Vince.
-CJ had a tough afternoon, but that was to be expected due to Collins being the team’s QB.
With a healthy VY and an emerging Kenny Britt making plays down the field, I’m still optimistic that he has a few big games in store as we march towards the end of the season.
-Chris Hope’s miscue of waiting for the ball instead of being aggressive contributed to a big Riley Cooper reception in the first-half that led to the Eagles’ lone touchdown.
Fortunately, he redeemed himself a bit by making a nice play while preventing Jeremy Maclin from burning him deep later on.
-Although he was overshadowed (and rightfully so) by Britt’s performance, it’s nice to see rookie Damian Williams continuing to emerge as a factor in the passing game.
-With today’s victory, that’s 12 consecutive victories for the Titans over their NFC opponents.
