With their own fourth-round pick, 112th overall, in the 2014 NFL draft, the Titans selected Penn State defensive tackle DaQuan Jones.
Jones’ most notable trait may be excellent size, measuring in at 6’3 3/4″, 322 pounds at the Combine. He played primarily as an 3-tech defensive tackle for the Nittany Lions. His early NFL role is more likely to be as a run-stuffer, I’d guess as a nose tackle though possibly instead at defensive end. I would also guess he’ll be primarily an early downs run-stuffer early in his career, though he did have 11.5 tackles for loss and 4.0 sacks in his senior season. I’ll have to watch him more closely.
Whichever position and role he ends up playing, he’ll be part of a defensive line mix that was already complicated and hard to sort out. I expect him to have a role, but we’ll have to see just what that will be.
