Titans select RB David Cobb in fifth round

With their fifth round pick, 138th overall, the Titans selected running back David Cobb out of Minnesota.

Cobb was a very productive back for the Golden Gophers. He’s a big back, almost 230 pounds, so competition for Shonn Greene and Antonio Andrews in that role in the committee with Bishop Sankey. He only ran a 4.81 at the Combine, but that was with an injury. He’s not a speed back, by any means, but he sometimes shows the kind of burst Greene did when he came out of Iowa. He won’t be a star, but I think he’s immediately the best between the tackles back on the roster.
