Well, it wasn't pretty but a win is a win. Not that the pass defenses deserve a lot of credit, but neither team looked good trying to throw the ball. Offensively for the Titans, the good news was they had success running the ball, the bad news was they had little success passing.
For the first time in a long time, Chris Johnson looked like CJ2K instead of CJ2ypc. CJ's stat line was 23/150/2, the first time this year he rushed for 100+ yards or scored a rushing touchdown. Shonn Greene chipped in with a 9/38/1 rushing line and a 28-yard pass reception. Jake Locker even got in on the act, rushing for 3/10/1. On the flip side, Locker threw two picks with no touchdowns, took four sacks and had a paltry 48.5 QB rating.
I'm not sure what to make of either the o-line or d-line. Each outplayed their opponents at times and each was also outplayed at times. In a word, inconsistent. Jurrell Casey had two sacks and a key forced fumble, which led to the winning touchdown. The Rams had four sacks, all in the first half.
The Titans run defense gave up a line of 27/127/2 to Rams rookie Zac Stacy, who added 51 yards on six catches. Former Titans Cortland Finnegan and Jared Cook got on the stat sheet with an interception and touchdown, respectively, for those who care what former Titans do.
So there's plenty of things that still need to get fixed but for now, I'm happy with the win, which brings the Titans' record to 4-4.
