The inactives are out for today’s game at LP Field between the Tennessee Titans and the Houston Texans, and here they are:
HOUSTON TEXANS: OT Jeff Adams, DB Josh Aubrey, ILB Brian Cushing, CB Darryl Morris, WR DeVier Posey, QB Tom Savage, LB Jeff Tarpinian
TENNESSEE TITANS: RB Antonio Andrews, WR Kris Durham, DL DaQuan Jones, CB Coty Sensabaugh, OT Will Svitek, TE Taylor Thompson, QB Charlie Whitehurst
No notable inactives for the Titans, as both Sensabaugh and Thompson were doubtful on the Official Injury Report. With Locker the QB2, Whitehurst is down. Shonn Greene’s arrest does not result in his demotion in favor of Antonio Andrews, nor did I expect it to. Tight end Richard Gordon makes his season debut; he’s the sort of player you’re not surprised to see on the street seven weeks into the regular season.
Cushing is the biggest name down for the Texans, while Jadeveon Clowney and Brooks Reed both are playing while also being listed as questionable. From a pure football perspective, I’m excited to see Clowney play, though of course as a Titans fan I wish he was playing his second game was against another team.
I started writing a preview post for this game, since there’s plenty to talk about between the new look Texans and Zach Mettenberger’s first start. I ultimately ended up scrapping everything I wrote and deciding to let the game speak for itself. I’m not expecting much from either team in the way of consistently good play, outside of perhaps Arian Foster, but it could be an interesting albeit sloppy game. Or not.
I’ll be chiming in the game on Twitter, so follow and yap at me there if you so desire. Recap up after the game, snap report Monday, then it’s a midseason bye after the first start by a rookie QB so there will be plenty to write about if I have the time to do so.
