Tito and Bobby V on Baseball Tonight

Did you happen to catch Baseball Tonight last night on ESPN?  If you didn’t, this is what you missed.

Tito and Bobby V on Baseball Tonight

Former Sox skipper Terry Francona was on Baseball Tonight with his new job at ESPN and former ESPN guy Bobby Valentine was on for his new job as Red Sox skipper.  The first comment was from Tito that the word to describe it was “Irony.”

I actually thought it was pretty cool.  There aren’t that many instances where something like that can happen.  Both Tito and Bobby V have a great sense of sarcasm and wit, so it went very well.  Every once in a while Tito would make a comment about being thrown under a bus and driven over a few times, but nothing serious.  He also warned Bobby V about a mouse that lives in the manager’s bathroom and that might wanna change the cuisine in the clubhouse.  Bobby V joked right back that he was changing it from “fried to deep fried.”

I think ESPN really lucked out getting Tito.  I wasn’t sure before how good he would be as a media guy, but after his stint covering the Rangers during the post season, I think he’s got a knack for it.  I also personally like that I can still see Tito on my TV and listen to him call a game on Sunday nights.

And while no one will be Tito, I am liking what I am seeing and hearing about Bobby Valentine so far.
