Notre Dame freshman WR T.J. Jones scored on a 53-yard TD reception in the 3rd quarter of today’s game against Michigan. Fortunately for Jones, the refs didn’t see that he pulled off a textbook DeSean Jackson maneuver and let go of the ball at yard #52.
The worst part of this situation, in my opinion, is that no one from Michigan noticed that Jones let go of the football early. If someone in a white jersey jumps on that ball it’s a touchback and still a 21-7 game. Of course, that wouldn’t have made the Wolverines’ final drive as dramatic and we wouldn’t be talking about the correlation between Denard Robinson and a certain bronze statue after just 2 games.
