The Celtics overcame a sluggish first half and beat Milwaukee tonight, 105-90.
Paul Pierce (24 points, 6 rebounds, 2 blocks) was nearly unstoppable in the 2nd half: 18 points, 7-9 FG.
This one got chippy in the 4th quarter. Kurt Thomas was hit with a Flagrant 1 for throwing Glen Davis to the floor. Davis bounced up and got right in Thomas' face, but no punches were thrown. Bucks coach Scott Skiles was ejected (it was the most obvious I'm-going-to-go-get-thrown-out move I've ever seen) following a smaller scrum involving Pierce and Jerry Stackhouse.
The Bucks are such a cute team. Don't you just love the way they are
trying to play "tough" and make a statement before the playoffs? Without Andrew Bogut, they have ZERO chance of beating the Celtics.
Kevin Garnett (rest) did not play. Rasheed Wallace (12 points, 7 rebounds) took his spot in the starting line-up and played well.
The Atlanta Hawks also won tonight, staying one game ahead of the Celtics with 2 games remaining.
Bill Rafferty, one of my all-time favorite college basketball analysts, worked the game alongside Mike Gorman. Does anyone know what happened to Tommy and/or Donny Marshall?
