Earlier, Tate Forcier on Michigan Academics–
“I’ve never been the greatest student. …. You really have to try to flunk out here. All you have to do is go to class, it’s not that hard. I’ve always been an average student. I don’t ever see myself being that smart of a student.”
“Reserve sophomore quarterback Tate Forcier did not meet University standards,” Michigan said in release Thursday.
That serves as a statement from Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez, according to U-M associate athletic director Dave Ablauf. Ablauf said he could not be more specific about the nature of the reason for Forcier’s ineligibility, but program sources said he was academically ineligible.
It will be interesting to see if the Wolverines can maintain their plans to redshirt freshman Devin Gardner, who is suffering from nothing at all but RRod needs him to have an extra year a back injury.
