On Thursday, emails from New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady were released as part of the Deflate Gate lawsuit, and among the most interesting, was his exchange with a childhood friend regarding Peyton Manning.
In the email, Brady was told of an article by Grantland.com editor Bill Simmons, you can read the article here. In the piece, Simmons argues that between Brady and Manning, it was Peyton who was on the decline in his career.
Brady responded:
“I’ve got another 7 or 8 years. He has 2. That’s the final chapter. Game on.”
That’s Tom Brady for you. An elite competitor whose desire to win is unmatched in the National Football League. You knew at some point last season, that the Patriots and Brady were on a mission to win a Super Bowl. They brought memories of 2014 San Antonio Spurs as they rolled all the way to their 5th NBA Championship since 1999.
That was Brady and the Pats for you last season. And the year before, and the year before that. There’s a fire in Tom Brady, and the email only confirms what we already knew, but still, it’s pretty awesome to see one of the greatest quarterbacks of all-time communicate in the fashion he did, especially regarding his chief rival.
