There has been plenty of conjecture as to who will be cast for the Warner Bros. adaptation of DC’s Suicide Squad. With the pre-production to start in February, it would appear that four spots on the roster are finally about to be filled.
According to ComicBook.com, the studio is in the final phase of negotiations to secure Tom Hardy, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, and Jai Courtney for roles in the movie.
While Robbie is already set for the role of Harley Quinn and Leto is rumored to be portraying The Joker, it’s still up in the air what roles may be in store for Hardy and Courtney.
Two possibilities could be Deathstroke and Deadshot, but a decision still needs to be made as to which actor plays which role.
Gamesradar has reported that Will Smith remains a possibility to be cast, and is reportedly still in talks for a role. Cara Delavingne’s name has also been mentioned in connection with the movie without any real mention of whom she may be cast to play. Joker’s daughter anyone?
Of course there is still plenty of speculation as to whether Jesse Eisenberg will be bringing his incarnation of Lex Luthor into the fold. It’s just one more of this productions many wrinkles that need to be ironed out…and I mean soon.
Director David Ayers is slated to roll cameras on the movie just four short months from now in Toronto, and it will run from April until September. With pre-production just around the corner, I’m sure fans are going to want the cast nailed down very soon.
