Tony Lippett, The Cotton Bowl Killer is an NFL triple threat

The most remembered scene from the 2015 Cotton Bowl is the devastating hit on Baylor kicker Chris Callahan as he closed to tackle a Michigan State player who was returning his blocked kick. The hit brought Callahan a moment of fame. Twitter said, in jest, that he was dead, until the man himself said he was alive.

Few people caught the name of the man that did the damage. Tony Lippett is Michigan State’s top receiver. Late in the 2014 season, he burnished is resume as a starting cornerback in addition to receiver. The hit that made Callahan famous ought to impress NFL scouts with Lippett’s skills as a special teams player, too. Lippett’s hit on Callahan surely bumped his Draft stock by three spots.
