Top 5 Indians Games to Re-Watch

Deep in the off-season, everybody is pining for some baseball. That is why you're here isn't it? Burning River Baseball brings you five of the most exciting Indians games from the 2013 season. Home runs? There will be plenty. Walk-Off Wins? Check. Amazing defensive plays? Of course. Using a super secret ultimate game evaluator, we picked out the best of the best from the Indians season. Rather than giving you five walk off wins, there are five completely different games to keep things interesting. There will be a description of each game below the video, so don't read ahead if you don't want to see any spoilers. The videos are the condensed version of the game, meaning it will only be the impact pitch of each at bat. For the entire game, click the link on the headline of each game.

5. August 5th: Anibal Sanchez vs. Corey Kluber

This is the only loss considered among the top five Indians games this year and featured a fantastic pitching match-up between two great Central Division starters. Kluber went 7.1 innings without giving up a run. The Indians were winning all the way until the ninth inning when Chris Perez couldn't hold down a two run lead. A main reason this game was the best loss was the fantastic defense played throughout including two outfield assists and a number of other excellent plays.

4. April 21st: Ubaldo Jimenez vs. Erik Bedard

Looking for a come from behind thriller? This is the game for you. The Indians went down 2-0 in the first inning, but came back, scoring five single runs in five different innings. Four of the runs scored on solo home runs, including a contested Mark Reynolds shot in the seventh that gave the Indians the lead. Perez kept things interesting until the last second, but the Indians held on for the win.

3. April 30th: Roy Halladay vs. Zach McAllister

For fans of offense, this is your game. Not only did the Indians hit seven home runs, but three came against two time Cy Young Award winner Roy Halladay. On the other side, McAllister kept the Phillies offense to two runs, both of which came on solo home runs. By the end of the game, 14 of the 16 total runs scored came via the long ball. In addition, there were a few nice defensive plays on the Indians side and a couple of steals as well. 

There's no better feel good game than a 12 run win.

2. May 20th: Hisashi Iwakuma vs. Scott Kazmir

I hope you like comebacks, but of course, who doesn't. Of course, to comeback, you have to fall behind. The Indians started off down two in the first and staged their first comeback in the second when they took over the lead. The Mariners tied it in the third and the Indians took back the lead in the bottom of the inning. Seattle tied the game in the next inning and it took the Indians until the seventh to take back the lead. In the eight the M's tied it again and then took the lead the following inning. With the game on the line and two outs in the ninth, Carlos Santana was safe on an error and Jason Kipnis scored the game tying run. In the tenth, Seattle tied it up yet again, only so Yan Gomes could hit his second home run of the night, a three run, walk off shot. Overall, the Indians came back five times, had three home runs (as did the Mariners) and five defensive plays of note.

1. April 12th: Jose Quintana vs. Justin Masterson

This was a much cleaner walk-off win than the one listed previously. Justin Masterson was dominant all game (as he was during the entire season), only allowing six base runners all game, while striking out seven. Quintana matched him through seven innings, pitching a shut out with seven strike outs of his own. It wasn't until there were two outs in the bottom of the ninth during the 0-0 game that Nick Swisher was able to come through with the walk-off single to score Michael Bourn from third. If you want a game that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the final play, this is it.
