In honor of special guest – Tyrone Carter- on the Vikings Digital Diaries radio program tomorrow… we take a look at the Top 5 “Minnesota Gopher” Vikings.
Tyrone Carter is a former defensive back who played in the NFL from 2000-2010. Tyrone attended the University of Minnesota and recorded a NCAA division record 585 tackles for the Gophers. He also earned the Carl Eller Award twice, which is given to the Gophers defensive player of the year. In 1998, Carter was named first team All Big Ten conference by both the coaches and the media. Tyrone was drafted in the 4th round (122nd overall) in the 2000 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings. Carter was part of the Super Bowl Champion Steelers’ team in 2005 and 2008.
