“I invested my whole life up to that point to make it to the state championship game. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” Angerer said. “There was no way I wasn’t going to play.”
His mother, Mary, is a cancer survivor. His father, Cliff, worked in a factory. Toughness is a family trait.
“You invest so much, you feel like you owe it to your family and your teammates to keep playing and keep fighting,” Angerer said.
